Clean water advocate Renee Hoyos continues momentum

KNOXVILLE, TN — Last week, Tennessee’s AFL-CIO endorsed TN-02 Democratic Nominee for Congress, Renee Hoyos.

“Now more than ever, the need for working families to have strong representation at all levels of government is critical,” said TN AFLCIO President Billy Dycus. “It has become abundantly clear over the last several years that Tennesseans are in desperate need of new leadership…We need to elect legislators who will continue to advocate for policies that help working families, not ones who seek to silence our voices.”

The AFL-CIO, the largest labor union in Tennessee, did not endorse in the Tennessee’s 2nd Congressional District’s 2018 election. Their endorsement of Hoyos this year is a testament to her support for working families, an indictment of her opponent, & a signal of her growing momentum.

“I know the value of a union — my grandfather was a union organizer who helped open Holly’s Sugar Plant. Today, too often, Congress doesn’t work for working people across East Tennessee. I’m honored to stand with the AFL-CIO as we fight to change that,” Hoyos said.
