Oster Challenges Outcome in Primary Due to Democrat Participation

Sources inform me that Gina Oster has contested to the Tennessee Republican Party State Executive Committee the outcome of her 99 vote loss in the Republican Primary to her opponent.

The SEC acts as a Primary Challenge Board like when the Democrat SEC removed Rosalind Kurita as its nominee several years ago.

This challenge will be decided when the SEC meets on August 29. No vouches, no State Party Chair decision. It’s up to the SEC exclusively. This is the same group that voted overwhelmingly to not place Oster’s opponent on the Primary ballot. That decision by the SEV was overridden by the State GOP Chairman Scott Golden when Congressman Tim Burchett, State Senator Richard Briggs and Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs sent letters vouching for him over a March 3, 2020 Democrat Primary vote, he cast on February 25.
