TN State Senator Becky Duncan Massey was the Speaker at the October Karns Republican Club this past week. As part of her talk, she tells the story of the action of State Rep. Harry Burn and his vote that made Tennessee the 36th state to ratify the 19th Amendment, giving Women the Right to Vote.

Rep. Burn wrote into the record that the reason for his vote was “I did it for morality, for my Mother and the for the Glory of the Republican Party.”
