Here We Go Again…..Attacking Sheriff’s Merit Council

Last October through January 2021, meetings were held and changes proposed to change the Knox County Merit System and Council for Sheriff’s Employees. Minimal changes were made, the major changes were rejected by a majority of Knox County Commissioners.

The argument that Commissioner Larsen Jay made was there had been no changes since the 1990’s. Well now enter Knox County Law Director David Buuck, at tomorrow’s Knox County Commission workshop they will discuss going back to the TN version of Merit Council to about 1974.

Never mind that Knox County is a Charter form of Government so that we don’t have to rely on the state law.

But, here we go again. The Sheriff and Law Director don’t have enough to do, they wanna fix something that ain’t broken. I mean go ahead and screw morale of the Sheriff’s Department some more.
