Ward will continue his work to serve Knox County through community service and leadership

POWELL, Tenn. – Cameron Ward today released the following statement announcing his decision not to file his nominating petition for Knox County Board of Education for District 7“Knox County means everything to me. I grew up here, was educated in public school here, and am dedicated to building a future here for myself, my family, and every family that calls our community home,” Ward said. “With that passion, I decided to explore my options to run for the school board to elevate the issues of school safety, improving literacy, raising education standards, and keeping schools open and first-rate for every student in Knox County. While the support of so many in our community has been promising, I believe I have elevated these priorities to a point that no longer requires a bid to serve on the board. I will remain wholly dedicated to these issues and believe the best way I can make an impact for Knox County at this time is through engaging deeply in community service and leadership to improve student outcomes.”

Ward is a graduate of Powell High School and basketball coach at Halls Middle School. He filed an appointment of political treasurer with the Knox County Board of Elections on July 26, 2021.
