Reported By

Reported On

At approximately 3:09 p.m. today, Patrol units were dispatched to Ellistown at Roberts Road in reference to a disturbance on Knox County School bus # 124, based out of East Knox Elementary School. Upon arrival, officers discovered that several students had been exposed to pepper spray. The investigation resulted in one 10-year-old male being cited to Juvenile Court and one student facing school disciplinary actions.

All affected students were treated by AMR at the scene and released to their parents at the scene. A second bus was dispatched to the scene and resumed the normal route with the remaining students who were not exposed.

The investigation also revealed that a student had brought the pepper spray to school and gave it to another student. It did not belong to the bus driver.
