Thursday evening June 1, the Fruitition Cafe in Farragut was nearly full with members and attendees of the Concord Farragut Republican Club.

Former State Rep. Bill Dunn and now a key member of the TN Department of Education talked about TN Governor Bill Lee’s efforts the last four years and he talked about the legislatures third grade retention law.

He did mention when First Lady Dr. Jill Biden came to Tennessee to promote some initiatives of Tennessee in Education. When Republican legislators were called they were excited that someone from Washington was coming to praise programs, then realized it was the Democrat First Lady. When Democrats were called they were excited then realized she was coming to praise something from a Republican led state.

Dunn served from 1994-2020, State Rep. Michele Carringer replaced Dunn in 2020.
