This evening the Center City Conservatives Republican Club hosted Lynne Fugate, Knoxville City Council-member at Large Seat A.

She talked about and defended her record the last four years. Remember her primary opponent is the former liberal Chairman of the Knox County Democrat Party, the party lost many races during Fugate’s opponents terms.

Former Mayor Madeline Rogero and Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon are supporting Fugate, a real tell tale sign of Fugate’s opponent.

Fugate said that for the extremes of each party. She can’t be Conservative or Liberal enough. She does the homework and she cast votes. Fugate was asked about casting a vote with the Democrats on the new downtown baseball stadium, she said she cast the same vote as a councilmember as every Republican Knox County Commissioner did.

Fugate even travels with video recording paparazzi. The man in the suit is Gary Loe, President of the West Knox Republican Club, the other is ”Clay” an intern with Fugate’s opponents campaign. (According to Fugate’s opponents instagram) the other had told a member that he was just there to eat dinner. But he recorded everything Fugate said. I can only guess at this point, its Fugate’s opponent lurking for gotcha moments, they got no good roll tonight, as Fugate simply answered every question.

Center City Conservatives Republican Club was the first to make a financial contribution to the Knox County Republican Party for a party website with social media links for the clubs. Treasurer Martha Raper presented the check to Knox County Republican Party Chairman Buddy Burkhardt.
