South Knox County Commissioner Andy Fox tried at the Zoning meeting of the Knox County Commission yesterday September 16, 2024. Fox wanted (according to my interpretation and others) was to rezone property in South Knox from the zoning they have previously received.

Fox explained that is NOT what he proposed. What he does want is to initiate a rezoning request that would go back to Planning, go through Planning staff, through the Planning Commission and then back to Knox County Commission.

If the Commission added it to last nights agenda, they would like hear this in November. The motion to add to last nights agenda failed 6-4 (Fox was joined in adding it to last nights agenda by Commissioners Angela Russell, Rhonda Lee and Adam Thompson) The following Commissioners voted no on adding to to agenda were Commissioner Damon Rawls, Courtney Durrett, Shane Jackson, Chair Gina Oster, Terry Hill, Larsen Jay and Vice Chair Kim Fraizer.

Most assuredly Fox will add to the October agenda. Again as Fox said this simply sends it back planning process again, NOT changing the zoning.
