Last night the Three Rivers Republican Club held their May 2025 meeting. A great crowd attended, citizens from Northeast Knox County, (Gibbs, Corryton) East Knox County (Carter, 4-Way, Thorngrove, Riverdale), South Knox County (Marbledale, Ramsey, New Hopewell, Bonny Kate, Mt Olive) and even East Knoxville (Holston Hills)
Republican Officeholder attending were Knox County Commissioner and 2026 County Mayor candidate Larsen Jay, Chancellor Richard Bud Armstrong, Law Director David Buuck, Tennessee Republican Party State Executive Committeeman District 6 Brian Hornback, Knox County Republican Party Chair Martin Daniel, former Knox County Republican Party Chair Buddy Burkhardt, Former Trustee Ed Shouse, State Rep. David Wright, County Commissioner Adam Thompson, Knox County Sheriff Tom Spangler and Trustee Justin Biggs was represented by yours truly.
There will be an open office at the Knox County Republican Party HQ on Friday May 30th 5:30 pm until sometime at 5731 Lyons View Pike Suite 112.
The Knox County Republican Party is planning a Knoxville City Council candidate forum on June 16, all City Council candidates will be invited, location to be announced.
the Knox County Republican Party Sporting Clays Tournament is coming up in July, more details on that later. If you are someone that likes to shoot ammunition for recreation, this is for you. If you are like me and simply use ammunition to defend life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, then this event is not for us. It is a fundraiser for the local party.
Three Rivers Republican Club President Chuck Frazier made an excellent point as the club was adjourning and I had to leave to join a Tennessee Republican Party bylaw subcommittee meeting via zoom on the way home. This club has a good time, there is laughter in this club and they work for the good of the community and the party.
There is at least one club where about 12 people or less show up and they talk about the ones they don’t like, they campaign for one in the primary, giving her $1,500, when she lost by 60% of the vote, the nominee was so damaged that the Democrat got elected to County Commission.
