What better place to meet your local leaders than a legendary East Knox County landmark?
Today, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Stormer’s Hardware—a true pillar of the Four Way community—hosted a “Meet Your Commissioners” event, thanks to the efforts of the Four Way Inn community and our very own County Commissioners, Kim Frazier (At-Large) and Adam Thompson (8th District).
Although my calendar somehow told me 3–4 p.m. (and I’m the only one who controls it…), the community showed up strong during the scheduled time! Commissioner Frazier brought 50 printed Constituent Surveys—and 47 were filled out before the day was done. If you missed it and still want to weigh in, reach out to her directly at [email protected]. She’d be glad to hear from you.

Why Stormer’s?
Located at 8618 Asheville Hwy, Stormer’s Hardware isn’t just a hardware store—it’s part of the fabric of East Knox County. For over 60 years, it’s served neighborhoods like Strawberry Plains, Carter, and Thorngrove with unmatched personal service and hard-to-find supplies.
The legacy of Stormer’s goes way back—from original owner Howard “Stormer”, to Cecil Lee, and now Dusty Lee, who keeps the legacy alive.

What sets Stormer’s apart?
- Personal touch: You’re not just a customer—you’re a neighbor.
- Community roots: Food trucks stop by almost daily—favorites like Word of Mouth Food Company, Meek’s Kitchen, and April’s Grill.
- Trusted name: Named a “Neighborhood Favorite” in Carter, Thorngrove, Asheville Hwy, and Dumplin Valley.
- Expert help: Known for plumbing supplies, project advice, and staff that helps you solve the problem, not just sell the parts.
Local Leadership, Local Business, Real Conversations
Stormer’s continues to be more than a place to get bolts and pipe fittings—it’s where community happens. And today proved that again.
Thanks to Commissioners Frazier and Thompson for making themselves available, and to Stormer’s for opening their doors to public dialogue. Here’s to more conversations, more community, and more mornings like this one at Stormer’s Hardware.
