Early voting for the Knoxville City Council district primaries (excluding North Knoxville’s Fifth District) started yesterday, marking the beginning of an exciting election season. With all current council members term-limited, fresh faces are stepping up to represent our communities. This year, voters can select only one candidate per district, and the races are nonpartisan, meaning candidates are not running as Republicans, Democrats, or Independents.
District One: South Knoxville and Fort Sanders
The District One race features four candidates: Lindsey Jaremko, Becky Jones, Karyn Adams, and Charles Van Morgan. We’re thrilled to welcome Lindsey Jaremko as an advertiser on The Mega Bullhorn of Truth.
District Two: West Knoxville
In West Knoxville, Nathan Honeycutt and Melody Watts are vying for the District Two seat, bringing their unique perspectives to the table.
District Three: Northwest Knoxville
The Northwest Knoxville race is crowded, with Nick Ciparro, Ivan Harmon, Doug Lloyd, and Frank Ramy competing for the District Three position.
District Four: North Knoxville
Michael DeBardelaben and Jeff Talman are facing off in District Four, each aiming to represent North Knoxville’s interests.
District Six: East Knoxville
East Knoxville’s District Six has a robust field of candidates: Charles Frazier, Denzel Grant, Stan Johnson, George Raudenbush III, and Lawrence Williams.
A Note on Recent Media Coverage
On August 6, a local newspaper published a story about a court action involving District Six candidate Grant, dated April 3. The timing of this report, just as early voting begins, raises questions about its intent, particularly given the young reporter’s apparent aim to sway the election. Many voters may relate to Grant’s situation, as similar challenges are common. Rumors suggest other candidates may face scrutiny over their handling of city affairs as fiduciaries, and we may see those stories surface if needed. For now, let’s focus on the issues and the candidates’ visions for Knoxville.
Get out and vote, Knoxville! Your voice matters in shaping our city’s future.
