The Knox County Conservative Republicans (KCCR) proudly announce their endorsement of Betsy Henderson for Knox County Mayor in the 2026 election. As the current Knox County Board of Education member for District 6, Henderson has proven herself a steadfast conservative leader, dedicated to advancing policies that strengthen families, promote fiscal responsibility, and uphold East Tennessee values.

“Betsy Henderson is a principled conservative who has consistently fought for the priorities of Knox County residents,” said Lawrence Segrest, KCCR District 5 President. “We carried out a rigorous evaluation to ensure her alignment with our conservative values.  Henderson’s experience and track record, combined with her conservative values, convinced KCCR membership that she is the only clear choice to lead Knox County as our mayor. We are confident she will continue the legacy of strong leadership exemplified by our previously endorsed candidates, including State Representative Elaine Davis, County Commissioner Angela Russell, Andy Fox, and Farragut Alderman Alex Cain.”

KCCR’s endorsement of Henderson follows a thorough and meticulous vetting process, reflecting the organization’s commitment to supporting only the most qualified conservative leaders. The process included:

  • Attendance at six community meetings held across Knox County, where Henderson engaged directly with grassroots conservatives to discuss local priorities and solutions.
  • Completion of an in-depth assessment with members and leadership addressing critical topics such as fiscally responsible budgeting, public safety, education, safe roads, and preservation of Knox County’s conservative values.

Henderson’s proven leadership on the school board, coupled with her deep community ties, positions her to address the pressing challenges facing Knox County, including rising costs, public safety, and government overreach. Her commitment to transparent, accountable governance resonates with KCCR’s mission to promote conservative principles.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Knox County Conservative Republicans,” said Betsy Henderson. “As a school board member, I’ve worked tirelessly to empower parents and prioritize students. As mayor, I’ll fight to provide core services like great roads and schools, keep taxes low, and then get government out of the way so families can thrive. Together, we will build a future that honors our conservative values.”

The 2026 Knox County mayoral election offers voters a chance to elect a leader who will stand firm on conservative principles. KCCR’s endorsement signals strong grassroots support for Henderson’s vision of a prosperous, secure, and patriotic Knox County.
