Knoxville, TN – November 18, 2025 – Knox County Commissioner Rhonda Lee proudly announces her candidacy for General Sessions Judge in the 2026 election, stepping forward to fill the seat being vacated by the honorable Judge Andrew Jackson VI upon his well-deserved retirement.
As a dedicated attorney, mother, and lifelong resident of Powell for over 36 years, Rhonda Lee has spent her career fighting for justice, protecting constitutional rights, and the people of Knox County with unwavering integrity. Elected as the 7th District Commissioner in 2022, Rhonda has proven herself as one of the strongest conservative voices on County Commission—championing fiscal responsibility, community safety, and the protection of our core family values. Most recently when she authored and passed the resolution honoring conservative leader Charlie Kirk for his work defending free speech and traditional American values
Rhonda has consistently stood up for taxpayers by exposing wasteful spending. She has been a tireless watchdog against government waste and led the charge to hold the Hallsdale-Powell Utility District (HPUD) accountable, successfully advocating for ratepayers who are facing unjustified rate hikes and lack of transparency. Her efforts helped publicize a state investigation into HPUD.
“I am running for General Sessions Judge because our courts must be a beacon of fairness, efficiency, and compassion—ensuring every Knox Countian receives the justice they deserve,” said Commissioner Lee. “Judge Andrew Jackson VI has set a high standard of wisdom and dedication over his decades of service. I am humbled to seek to build on his legacy by bringing my real-world experience as a criminal defense attorney, and no-nonsense county commissioner to the bench. Whether it’s traffic cases, domestic violence, or serious felonies, I will apply the law equally, swiftly, and without favoritism—always upholding the Constitution while prioritizing victim rights, rehabilitation where appropriate, and the protection of our children.”
Rhonda’s vision includes clearing court backlogs, expanding access to justice for working families, and continuing her proven record of fighting for the people—whether in the commission chambers or from the bench.
“I didn’t just earn my law degree—I fought cancer to get it, and I’ll keep fighting for you,” Lee added. “From defending free speech with the Charlie Kirk resolution, to saving taxpayer dollars, to standing with ratepayers against the Hallsdale-Powell Utility District, I’ve shown I will always put Knox County families first. I’ll bring that same tenacity and principle to the General Sessions bench.”
