Today on MegaBullhornofTruth.com and BrianHornback.com: Welcoming Greg Wiberley, Candidate for Town of Farragut South Alderman
The Town of Farragut is heading to the polls on Thursday, August 6, 2026, with early voting from July 17 through August 1. In the South Ward (Ward 2) alderman race, voters will choose between appointed incumbent Alderman Joe LaCroix and longtime community leader Coach Greg Wiberley.
We at MegaBullhornofTruth.com are proud to welcome and highlight Greg Wiberley, a true Farragut native whose roots run deep in this community. Greg lived here before Farragut was even incorporated as a town. His mother served as a guidance counselor and assistant principal at Farragut High School — and at 98 years young, she remains active and inspiring.
Who Is Coach Greg?
Greg brings decades of dedication to Farragut families. He and his wife raised five children who attended Farragut schools. He built their family home himself and even delivered one of their sons there. His commitment shows through real action:
- Over 25 years as a head coach in AYSO soccer, CBFO basketball, and Farragut Baseball — earning him the enduring nickname “Coach Greg.”
- Volunteer roles as a teaching assistant in Farragut schools, Johnny Appleseed classroom visitor, and youth director at local churches.
- Hands-on help constructing a youth camp and mentoring generations of young people.
Professionally, Greg is a project manager with over 50 years of experience in industrial, commercial, and residential construction. His work includes major projects like Northshore Town Center, Tennessee National Golf Community, and the ORNL Biomass Steam Plant. This practical expertise equips him to tackle infrastructure, budgeting, and growth challenges thoughtfully.
Why Greg Is Running
Greg’s campaign centers on three core themes: caring, community, and competence. He emphasizes:
- Safer neighborhoods — Holding law enforcement accountable for fair resource allocation and visible patrols.
- Strong local economy — Supporting small businesses and sustainable growth.
- Responsible development — Preserving Farragut’s character, pace of life, and quality while planning for the future.
- Transparent leadership — Open communication, citizen input, and accountability in local government.
As an Evans Road resident, Greg has actively advocated for neighbors on issues like road improvements, property rights, and practical infrastructure solutions. He has spoken out at public meetings, pushing for more resident engagement and common-sense approaches.
The Race and Your Vote
After the passing of Alderman David White, the Board appointed Joe LaCroix to the seat. Now, Farragut voters get their say in this election. Greg stepped forward last year and is running to bring his deep community knowledge and proven service to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
