ā€œI’m truly honored to serve as the next Mayor of Knox County and to build upon the successes we have experienced over the past several years,ā€ said Knox County Mayor Betsy Henderson. ā€œWe will continue to ensure that this is the best place to do business, raise a family, and live.ā€

Henderson’s swearing-in marks the first time in Knox County history that a woman has held the office of mayor.

During her speech, Henderson outlined her vision for the county and what she hopes to accomplish over the next four years.

ā€œTogether, we will make Knox County a leader and a model for communities across Tennessee,ā€ said Mayor Henderson. ā€œWe won’t do it quietly or passively, but with intentional action pointed at solving problems for the hardworking people who live and do business here each day.ā€

Mayor Henderson plans to work closely with the county commission and school board to accomplish this goal. As mayor, she will prioritize keeping taxes low, supporting smart conservative growth, ensuring world-class schools and roads, and standing up for hardworking families.
