Gloria Johnson – Ain’t in Nashville, What She Promised in Knoxville

Reported On

This week, Democrat State Representative Gloria Johnson of Knoxville voted to abolish Workman’s Compensation in Tennessee for all citizens. The vote ultimately failed thankfully because all the Republicans voted NO.

In an equally important piece of legislation was SJR0001 which appeared on the House Floor on Monday 4/8/2013. This Senate Joint Resolution that Representative Casada presented sought to amend the State Constitution to forbid an income tax ONLY after a vote of the people. The vote was 80 in favor of SJR0001, 8 against and 1 Present Not Voting. Johnson was on the house floor at the time of the vote and simply sat there. She did NOT cast a vote FOR the right of the citizens of the state to vote. She did NOT cast a vote AGAINST the right of the people to cast a vote and she did NOT join Rep. Gilmore in casting a Present Not Voting. Johnson simply FAILED to represent the citizens that elected her.

Below is the vote tally, SJR0001 by Kelsey – FLOOR VOTE: MOTION TO CONCUR 4/8/2013

Why does Johnson go to Nashville and simply sit in the seat without taking any action?
