The Knox County Federation of Young Republicans met tonight. ‘The Study’ which is the meeting room at Chic-fil-a Homberg on Kingston Pike near Knox Plaza was packed with candidates and a few Young Republicans.
Jason Emert, candidate for State Representative District 13 spoke. Following his brief remarks he responded to a few questions. YR Chair Alex Roehl asked him to confirm that he supported an income tax. After a brief pause he said NO, NO, NO. Most everyone laughed. Except Billy Stokes, former Assistant to Governor Don Sundquist. The last Governor to propose an income tax.
