Last night, Roane County Commissioner Randy Ellis released a statement to his supporters indicating that he will seek re-election to the County Commission instead of seeking the position of Circuit Court Clerk which he was considering.
“Over the past few weeks I have been meeting with constituents regarding many issues and concerns that are facing Roane County. It has reminded me of the work still to be done in Roane County over the next several years. With that in mind, I have been meeting with my family, supporters and friends to reconsider my decision to run for Circuit Court Clerk and instead to run for re-election to the County Commission. After much thought and prayer I have decided to suspend my bid for Circuit Court Clerk and focus on re-election to the Roane County Commission for District 2. I have taken great pride in representing the folks of the 2nd District over the past few years and there are many issues in Roane Countys future where I can lead and serve our great county. At this time I would like to ask for your prayers and support as I begin my campaign for re-election!”
