This afternoon, the new Knox County Commission met to select their leaders for the next year. It has been reported that new Commissioner Charles Busler had been having dinner meetings with the new Commissioners and he was actively pursuing Dave Wright as the Commission Chairman. His efforts were in vain. Anders was nominated by Commissioner Amy Broyles. He secured six votes, Sam McKenzie, Broyles. Randy Smith, Richard Briggs, Brad Anders and Mike Brown securing to stay with the steady hand. Busler led with Jeff Ownby, Wright. Bob Thomas and Ed Brantley. Hopefully, Thomas and Brantley have learned their lesson in hanging with Busler.

In another odd twist, Ownby nominated Amy Broyles for Vice Chair and then voted for Wright as Vice Chair. In the oddest of flip flops ever observed. Wright secured Vice Chair on a 8 in favor, 2 for Broyles and 1 pass.

At least a steady hand will lead Commission for another year.
