Mike Donila posted this over at his Screams From the Porch. It seems Mayor Burchett is refinancing some county debt until 2027 and is reportedly saving $7.4 million.

Here is part of the spin that the Mayor apparently instructed his “spinner” Grider to put out.

“While our state and federal governments are having trouble balancing budgets, Knox County continues to find ways to save money through efficiencies, and it’s always great when efforts like this turn out better than planned,” Mayor Tim Burchett said.

If Burchett had paid any attention to the smallest detail during his two plus decades in Nashville, he would know that every year the state balances it’s budget. Why he keeps wanting to paint Governor and former Mayor Of Knoxville and the current legislature as a heavy tax and spender is bizarre at best.
