In this blog post having relied on Victor Ashe’s reporting over at E.W. Scripps owned Shopper News multiplied with Chris Heagerty’s absence from his law firms website seemed bizarre.

Come to find out, Former Knoxville Mayor Victor Ashe (the one that a court ruled violated the civil rights of firefighters) got it wrong. Ashe reported that Heagerty was on a leave of absence, that is not true. It seems Heagerty missed one meeting in the past 3.5 years, Ashe asked Cliff Rodgers, Administrator of Elections about the missed meeting, but where Ashe got that he was on a leave or absence is in question.

In in fact the meeting that Heagerty missed, Election Commissioner Rob McNutt chaired,  Victor missed that.

It seems Heagerty is in the midst of changing law firms. He is joining with a former colleague for a previous firm Carpenter and OConnor to create their own practice. Heagerty is expected to attend the meeting on the 24th of November to certify the November 4 election results.

Having to to point out that the E.W. Scripps owned Shopper News and Ashe got it wrong is not, oh who am I kidding. It is a fun sport.
