Knox County Republican Party First Vice Chair Buddy Burkhardt is the only announced candidate for Chairman of the Knox County Republican Party. Last night at the Halls Republican Club, longtime Republican activist and volunteer Suzanne Dewar announced her candidacy for first vice chair. Her candidacy was met with a rousing round of applause.

Dewar has served as the Volunteer Office Manager from at least 2003 until two years ago when the current Chair took over. A year into the current Chairs term the permanent office closed, a first since 2003. The action leaving the party homeless.

Precinct reorganizations are scheduled for February 21 and the county reorganization meeting is scheduled for March 7 at Crown College in Powell.
