Governor Bill Haslam‘s newly appointed Commissioner of Education, Dr. Candice McQueen will be in Knoxville on Thursday March 26. She will visit Pond Gap and South Knoxville Elementary School. At 7 p.m. she will make a public presentation at the Downtown Marriott. Free parking is available.

Dr. McQueen served as Dean of Lipscomb College of Education and taught in both public and private middle and elementary school prior to her appointment. Dr. McQueen’s visit is being made possible in part due to support from the Great Schools Partnership, Knox County Education Association and League of Women Voters of Knoxville and Knox County.
