This afternoon, the News Sentinel turned over the rock that apparently shows personal relationships and contractor connections, here. Some think well it was only one or two people and a failure to disclose. It could be that or it could be more. Sandy Loy authored weeks and months of news op-eds and they are located here.
Back in July 2011, the Knox County Commission asked for a full audit of PBA. The PBA Board and others squelched it saying it was too arduous and a former auditor who was perceived to be the guy that wanted to be liked did not perform a full audit. A full blown audit in 2011 would have revealed the conflicts. So, to the 2011 County Commission thanks for allowing the former auditor to be a likable guy instead of actually identifying the issues, instead four years later, the water has passed under the bridge.
By the way, News Sentinel, Hardin Valley Academy was a $50 million building. So the dollars paid to Merit far exceed $30 million.
