A packed house witnessed Jason Zachary take the Oath of Office to become State Representative of TN House District 14 this evening.

Here are Speaker Harwell’s remarks and the actual administration of the oath.

State Senator Richard Briggs who endorsed Zachary’s opponent attended tonight’s swearing in. Briggs appeared on direct mail pieces, placed robo calls. In State House District 14 only the 2 Town of Farragut precincts are in Briggs State Senate District 7. Zachary trounced the Briggs endorsed candidate in both Farragut precincts. The remainder of State House District 14 is in State Senate District 6 represented by Senator Becky Duncan Massey, who rightfully stayed out of the Special Election choosing not to endorse either candidate and leaving the decision up to the voters.

State Senator Frank Niceley, State Representatives Jimmy Matlock, Eddie Smith, Martin Daniel, Bill Dunn were present. Democrat State Representative Joe Armstrong of Knox County was a no show.

Also, in attendance was Knox County School Board Member Terry Hill.
