The Knox County School Board in less than 30 minutes selected Knox County’s Bob Thomas as the next Superintendent of Schools.

On a unanimous vote, one that a couple of weeks ago Board Member Lynn Fugate raised the specter that some board members sounded as if they had already made up their minds (even before the interviews and meet and greets) Last week, the teachers labor union chief was published in a local weekly newsprint publication endorsing Thomas.

With a unanimous vote, the question raising eyebrows is was the labor union chief used as an intermediary to circumvent the sunshine law? Will Jack McElroy and the Knoxville News Sentinel subpoena emails, text messages and phone call records like they did in the County Commission Sunshine lawsuit of 2007?
