WBIR here and WATE here are reporting that a local pawn shop is under active investigation by the Knox County Sheriffs Office.

This is the first pawn shop bust in several years. Warrants were served and a search is under way in conjunction with The Knox County Sheriff’s Office, ATF, Department of Homeland Security, TN Department of Revenue, KPD and the District Attorney General have been involved.

In addition, to the retail business, storage units and a residence are also being searched.

Two individuals were taken into custody, Matthew Keith Gard along with his father, Timothy Duke Gard both have a $15,000 bond each.
