Last evening, the Blount County Commission met to replace Former State Rep. Art Swann who is now State Senator Art Swann.

Tona Monroe nominated Jim Hammontree, Dave Bennett nominated Blount County Commission Chairman Jerome Moon, Moon immediately left the Dias and the meeting was then chaired by another Commissioner.

One Commissioner was absent, in a vote of 16-3 Moon was elected. Moon having left the Dias, only 19 of the 21 votes were cast.
