Monday night at the West Knox Republican Club as candidates and officeholders were introducing themselves, Third District County Commissioner Randy Smith was introducing himself. A person sitting near me asked is he the one challenging Biggs? I said no the other Smith. I was assuming he meant Justin Biggs, Candidate for Knox County Commission at large Seat 11. Biggs is being challenged by Robert Lawrence Smith.

Yesterday, it occurred to me that Randy Smith (if successful in the May 1 Republican Primary) is set to oppose Democrat Cody Biggs (if Biggs is successful in the May 1 Democrat Primary) .

So in the May 1 Knox County Republican Primary (every registered voter in Knox County) it is Justin Biggs -vs- Robert Lawrence (larry) Smith

In the August 2 Knox County General Election in Knox County’s Third District it is likely Randy Smith -vs- Cody Biggs.

A footnote: The Biggs are not related and the Smith’s are not related.
