A former Knox County Department Head Joe Hamby passed away. Hamby was a purchasing director for Former Knox County Executive (Mayor) Dwight Kessel.

In recent years, Hamby was active in the Concord Farragut Republican Club, he often helped to get the Guest Speakers for the monthly meetings.
