On February 15, 2018, the filing deadline for the Knox County May 1, 2018 Knox County Primaries there were three women in the Democrat Primary for Knox County Mayor. Rebecca Deloa, Rhonda Gallman and Linda Haney. On March 2, 2018 we reported here that Deloa suspended her campaign and vowed to return in 2022. Five days later on March 7, 2018 Gallman was arrested in Los Angeles, CA and initially was given a $100,000 bond, over the weekend it has been reported that her bond increased to $400,000. Gallman is charged with a felony, if convicted she would be ineligible to be elected or serve. Leaving Linda Haney as the sole Democrat candidate for Knox County Mayor.

On February 22, 2018, Gallman appointed a one term Knox County Commissioner, who was once arrested while serving as Commissioner. The Commissioner completed his term and was defeated for a second term in 2016, garnering 16% in the March 1, 2016 Republican Primary in Knox County’s Fourth District.
