Knoxville, Tenn. “Each Memorial Day, I am reminded of the responsibility I hold as a public servant. Over the last two hundred years, our country has seen many men and women sacrifice everything to ensure we as a people have free elections, freedom to live, and freedom to express our rights.

This Memorial Day, I ask all Knox County residents to take the day as a celebration and memorial to those that have given so much and never asked for anything in return. That is the very basis by which our country is founded, and without these men and women, we would not stand as the greatest country in the world.
