About that Contract Knox County Commission Approved This Week

Reported On

This past Monday, the Knox County Commission passed on Consent Agenda (no questions) this Consulting Services Agreement to renew a contract with Stones River Group a company based out of Nashville, TN This contract is for $5,500 a month not to exceed $66,000 by it’s new expiration date of October 31, 2022. Stephen Susano, the COO & Principal of the Group is the brother of Charles D Susano,III Knox County Circuit Court Clerk. You can watch the April 23, 2021 overview of SRG here.

Commissioner Kyle Ward told me that he called and asked Stones River Group if they represented any companies doing business with Knox County. Ward told me that they said they didn’t believe so, but would check. Because it passed on consent, I am left to believe they did not disclose any other businesses that they represent that are doing business with Knox County before the contract was renewed (I believe this is the fourth year)

Here is the list of current and former clients from the SRG website (I have a printed copy, should it be edited, not that I believe they would do that)  Let’s look at five of them, AT&T, Delta Dental of Tennessee, KCI Technologies, Volkert, Waste Management.

Here is the recent awards list from Knox County Procurement Department

AT&T  – Bid Number 2470

Waste Management – Bid Number 2490

Waste Management – Bid Number 2856

Volkert, Inc – Bid Number 2580

KCI Technologies, Inc. – Bid Number 2622

Delta Dental – Bid Number 2690
