There comes a time when change is necessary and complete change is fresh, Knox County Commission and Knox County School Board did just that.

The election of Chairman. Richie Beeler and John Schoonmaker were nominated. Schoonmaker withdrew from Chairman consideration. Beeler was elected by acclamation.

Beeler taking over as Chair from Knox County Clerk Sherry Witt who has to preside over the annual task of electing the Chair

Then Justin Biggs and John Schoonmaker were nominated for Vice Chair. The Commission voted 6-4 for Biggs. Terry Hill was late to the meeting. Watch the Vice Chair election, here or below.

The Knox County School Board elected South Knox County Board Member Kristi Kristy as Chair and First District Board Member Evetty Satterfield as Vice Chair. They replace Susan Horn as Chair and Virginia Babb as Vice Chair. Horn is cousin to State Rep. Jason Zachary.

At the Marathon School Board Meeting, Facebook turned up a picture of Eighth District Board Member Mike McMillan sleeping during public forum. My phone blew up with multiple screen grabs of it.
