Lenoir City, TN – October 31, 2025
Last night, under the warm glow of string lights at The Brickyard event center in Downtown Lenoir City, Billy Pickel officially kicked off his 2026 re-election campaign for Loudon County Road Superintendent. Surrounded by family, supporters, and members of the hardworking road crew that has become the backbone of his administration, Pickel delivered a clear message: progress isn’t an accident—it’s built, mile by mile.Watch the talk, here.
A Record of Results
Since taking office in 2022, Billy Pickel has transformed Loudon County’s road infrastructure with a no-nonsense, results-driven approach. In just four years, his leadership has delivered:
• 74 miles of road resurfaced
• Two new trucks added to the county fleet
• A culture of accountability and excellence within the Highway Department
These aren’t just numbers—they’re smoother commutes, safer school bus routes, and stronger local economies. Ask any driver in Loudon County, and they’ll tell you: our roads are among the best in Tennessee. And that reputation didn’t happen by chance.

Built by a Team, Led by a Leader
Pickel was quick to credit the men and women who show up before dawn, in rain or shine, to keep Loudon County moving.
From repaving rural backroads to upgrading high-traffic corridors, the Loudon County Highway Department under Pickel has operated with efficiency, transparency, and a relentless focus on getting the job done right—the first time.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As he seeks another term, Pickel’s vision is simple: keep building on success. That means:
• Continued investment in preventative maintenance
• Smart fleet upgrades to reduce downtime
• Partnerships with local leaders to secure state and federal funding
Because in Loudon County, good roads aren’t a luxury—they’re a commitment.
