Roane County Commissioner Bobby Collier passed away on Wednesday. I first met Commissioner Collier in 2012 when I visited Roane County with Third District Congressional candidate Weston Wamp. As I recall, Collier at the time was involved with Roane Counties 911 system, he assisted is showing Wamp the system and they talked about incidents where the system helped and where a few improvements could be made.

In the fall of 2012 Rep. Kent and Marilyn Calfee held a spaghetti dinner benefiting Operation REACH. At the spaghetti dinner, I was told the long history of Operation REACH and how Collier was the key to founding of it and keeping it running. It provides a decent Christmas to all deserving kids and families in Roane County.

The last time I saw Collier was earlier this year at the Boy Scout Dinner at Whitestone Inn. Collier was there supporting the Boy Scouts and was supportive of the scouts, community and of Roane County.
