Knox County Vice Chair and Second District County Commissioner Michele Carringer has informed me that she will not be a candidate for re-election this year. The Republican Primary is March 3, 2020 and General Election August 6, 2020.

Instead she will be a Republican candidate for TN State House of Representatives District 16. A position, Rep. Bill Dunn has held since 1994, but he announced in August that he will not be a candidate for re-election.

Carringer will join Seventh District School Board Member and former School Board Chair Patti Bounds in the primary. It is also expected that Scott Moore may join the primary race.
