According to this Nashville Public Radio news story, Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett is still on the State of Tennessee insurance plan. In 2010, he was elected to the position of Knox County Mayor after his term as State Senator and previously State Representative. Burchett continually says that Knox County citizens pay him an awful lot of money. But apparently the Knox County insurance isn’t good enough for the Mayor. He found him the best of two worlds, a golden insurance plan and a salary of a whole lotta money.

Of course Burchett likes to rant about how broken Washington is and how Congressmen and Senators don’t subject themselves to the same laws they pass. Burchett a career politician has found him a state teat to latch on too and refuses to let go.
