This morning Richard “Bud” Armstrong, Knox County Law Director was a guest on “The Rude Awakening” on WKVL AM 850. He discussed the investigation that he has started on the actions of the Knox County Audit Committee.

He stated that he does not like these side meetings that Commissioners have been calling. When asked by a caller about the public notices of Commissioner Amy Broyles he acknowledged that they were not in compliance with Chancellor Fansler’s permanent injunction. He also clarified that the permanent injunction is on the Knox County Commission, then, current and future. It seems criminal contempt charges could be pursued on Broyles.

In another twist, sources indicate that Audit Committee Chairman Joe Carcello may be asked to address County Commission under oath to discuss and disclose any and all conversations he has had with auditors and auditing firms concerning the Knox County audit functions.
