Could There Be Another Staples -vs- Gill Race?

Four years ago, County Commissioner Evelyn Gill won the Democrat Primary for Knox County Commission by beating Rick Staples. Staples then went on to take the State Representative position when former State Rep. Joe Armstrong had an early departure from the legislature.

Dr. Dasha Lundy beat Gill in last Tuesday’s Democrat Primary for another four year County Commission term. Staples so far has garnered potential Democrat opponents Matthew Park and former County Commissioner Sam McKenzie. The filing deadline for the August 6th Democrat Primary for State Rep is NOT until April 2. Several individuals have mentioned the possibility that Gill could join that race and stage another Gill/Staples with an added Park/Mckenzie match. We will see. Stay Tuned.
