The Town of Farragut once again delivered a fantastic 4th of July Independence Parade—packed with patriotism, energy, and tradition! Tens of thousands lined Kingston Pike to celebrate America’s birthday in true East Tennessee fashion.
I had the honor of walking with Knox County Trustee Justin Biggs and more than three dozen community members and supporters. As a reminder, Biggs is on the ballot for re-election in the May 5, 2026 Republican Primary—early voting runs April 15–30.

This year’s parade featured over 90 entries, showcasing a powerful mix of community spirit and political presence. Among the familiar faces:
- State Senator Becky Massey
- State Representative Jason Zachary
- Knox County Schools Board Chair Betsy Henderson, who is also a 2026 candidate for Knox County Mayor
- Both announced candidates for Knox County Sheriff: Chief Deputy Bernie Lyons (marching with the department) and former Sheriff Training Officer Brent Gibson (with a float and crew of supporters)

The Republican presence was strong with entries from:
- Concord-Farragut Republican Club
- Knox County GOP Women
- Knox County Republican Party
Community staples like the Farragut Rotary Club and Lions Club also joined the celebration. And what would the parade be without Matlock Tire Service and their annual favorite—the Michelin Man—always a crowd pleaser!
Once again, the Town of Farragut reminded us why this event is a beloved tradition. Until next year—happy birthday, America! 🎆
