Well, well, well… LOOK WHAT FINALLY SHOWED UP!
For two consecutive weekly editions of the Farragut Press, one of the THIRTEEN Independent candidates challenging Republican U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn for Tennessee Governor purchased HALF-PAGE political advertisements.
There was just ONE little problem.
Neither advertisement included the required “Paid For By” disclosure!

After all, Tennessee’s campaign finance disclosure requirements aren’t merely suggestions. Political advertising must comply with applicable state law.
Fast-forward to THIS WEEK’S edition of the Farragut Press.
LO AND BEHOLD!
The same Independent candidate has another HALF-PAGE advertisement, and GUESS WHAT?
THE “PAID FOR BY” DISCLOSURE HAS FINALLY MADE AN APPEARANCE! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Imagine that!
Now, I can’t say whether the candidate, the newspaper, or somebody else finally decided to pay attention because of my previous posts.
But I CAN tell you this:
Before The Mega Bullhorn of Truth called attention to the missing disclosures, they weren’t there. Afterward, the disclosure appeared.
Coincidence? Maybe.
RESULT? COMPLIANCE! 💪🏼
This is exactly why I’ve continued operating The Mega Bullhorn of Truth since August 9, 2004.
Not because everybody likes what I write. Not because everybody agrees with me. And certainly not because I expect a Christmas card from everyone I write about.
ACCOUNTABILITY MATTERS. THE LAW MATTERS. AND DETAILS MATTER.
If you’re going to spend money asking Tennesseans to elect you GOVERNOR, following the campaign finance disclosure requirements is a pretty reasonable place to start.
So, congratulations to the Independent candidate and the Farragut Press for FINALLY getting that disclosure into the advertisement.
Another issue identified. Another issue apparently corrected. Another day of The Mega Bullhorn of Truth doing what it does BEST!
