For weeks the position of Knox County School Superintendent has been advertised. In a late night cram session, the Chair of the Superintendent search committee begs via Twitter for applicants.

On a positive note about education in our state. The Chairman and Vice Chairman of the House Education Committee are from Knox County. Committee Chairman Harry Brooks (a former Knox County School Board Member) and the Committee Vice Chairman is TN State Representative Eddie Smith of Knox County’s House District 13. Also, Roger Kane of Knox County’s House District 89 chairs Education Instruction and Programs.
