Kimberly Glenn Launches Campaign Ad on The Mega Bullhorn of Truth for Knox County Commission At-Large Seat 10

Kimberly Glenn, the longtime spokesperson for the Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) and a close ally of Sheriff Tom Spangler, has officially entered the race for Knox County Commission At-Large Seat 10. As of late December 2025, Glenn became the first candidate to appoint a treasurer and pick up a nominating petition for the seat, positioning her as an early frontrunner in the Republican field.

Glenn is running to replace term-limited Commissioner Larsen Jay, who is instead seeking the Knox County Mayor’s office in 2026. The At-Large Seat 10 represents all residents of Knox County on the 11-member commission. Other potential Republican contenders, such as Ronnie Rochelle and John Hawkins, along with independent Ronin Cunningham, have appointed treasurers but have not yet picked up petitions.

To kick off her campaign, Glenn has launched a political advertisement on TheMegaBullhornofTruth.com, a prominent East Tennessee political blog known for hosting campaign ads and endorsements for local Republican candidates. The site, run by citizen journalist Brian Hornback, has a track record of featuring ads for Knox County races and describes itself as delivering “truth” to readers across the region.

Glenn’s campaign emphasizes her decades of public service and community advocacy. With over 40 years of involvement in Knoxville-area issues, she highlights her role as an advocate for those without advocacy and her experience in law enforcement communications under Sheriff Spangler.

Key Election Dates for the 2026 Knox County Republican Primary:

•  Early Voting: April 15–30, 2026

•  Primary Election Day: May 5, 2026

The winner of the Republican primary will advance to the general election on August 6, 2026, facing any Democratic or independent opponents.

Glenn’s entry adds to a crowded 2026 ballot in Knox County, which includes races for county mayor, sheriff, trustee, and multiple commission seats due to term limits. As a well-known figure tied to the popular Sheriff Spangler, her campaign is expected to draw significant support from law enforcement and conservative voters.

For more than 25 years, Kimberly Glenn, an entrepreneur who has worked in real estate for over 22 years as an affiliate broker and principal broker, has successfully led two firms and helped families and businesses across Knox County. Her experience in the private sector as an entrepreneur has given her a strong understanding of growth, development, and the real-world challenges that families and small business owners face every day.

For the past 7½ years, Kimberly has served as Communications Director for the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, also working as the Governmental Affairs Liaison. Her responsibilities include media relations, public information, and crisis communication, ensuring that timely information is shared with the community during critical events. In this role, she has built strong working relationships across local and state government, law enforcement, and community organizations, helping to bridge the gap between public safety, policy, and the people they serve.

Kimberly, with the blessing of Sheriff Tom Spangler, spearheaded fundraising efforts for what is now the Officer and Employee Assistance Fund to support officers and employees during times of medical and financial hardship. She actively supports local animal shelters and rescues, the Care Cuts ministry, which serves the homeless by hosting drives for basic needs, and Shop with a Cop, which benefits local children through a partnership with the Boys and Girls Club.

Kimberly serves on the board of directors with the Hope Well Foundation, which assists individuals seeking a better way of life free from drugs and alcohol. Through this work, she continues her commitment to second chances, recovery, and stronger, healthier communities, which also help reduce recidivism rates.

Additionally, she serves as a fundraising liaison with Blue Line Tennessee, Inc., a 501(c)(3). Blue Line assists the families of officers across Tennessee who suffer a line-of-duty loss or face a career-altering injury.

Serving the community has been a way of life. Kimberly will bring her strong work ethic and problem-solving skills to the Knox County Commission, At-Large Seat 10. She will work with both government officials and the private sector to find solutions that benefit the taxpayers of Knox County.
