On Monday, December 8, 2025, the Knox County Commission conducted interviews with three candidates vying to fill the upcoming vacancy in General Sessions Court Division IV, following the retirement of Judge Andrew Jackson VI on December 31, 2025. The newly appointed judge will assume the bench on Monday, January 5, 2026.
The three applicants were:
• Assistant District Attorney Andrea Kline
• Assistant District Attorney Kevin Teeters
• Knox County Commissioner Rhonda Lee
Commissioner Rhonda Lee recused herself from both the interview process and the vote due to her candidacy.
After deliberation, the Commission voted as follows:
• Andrea Kline: 8 votes
• Rhonda Lee: 2 votes
• Kevin Teeters: 0 votes
With a clear majority, Assistant District Attorney Andrea Kline was appointed as the next Knox County General Sessions Judge for Division IV.
