i had heard a rumor on Thursday October 30 and was told on Friday October 31 that it is true that Knox County General Sessions Judge Andrew Jackson, VI announced his retirement, effective December 31, 2025. here is the Tennessee Bar announcement. Judge Jackson has served Knox County well, he will be missed.

The next step will be for Knox County Commission to interview and select a replacement, This position will be added to the May and August 2026 elections for the winner of the election (could be Commissions appointee) to serve the last two years of Jackson’s term.

There will be a retirement reception for Jackson Dec. 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. EST in the City-County Building Small Assembly Room.
