It is interesting that derogatory comments are still being made in the local newspaper (Knoxville News-Sentinel) about Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale’s commitment to education by school board members. I am happy to see our County Mayor set the record straight.

$29 million NEW dollars for the school district the past three years, in addition to receiving additional dollars from the savings in mowing, payroll and telecommunications consolidation. The county taking the debt retirement for the $40 million dollar Hardin Valley High School and the $15 million dollar PPU money. As our Mayor points out $29 million dollars is more than library, parks and recreation and health departments combined.
