The filing deadline to qualify to be on the ballot for the City of Knoxville City Council Primary is May 18, 2017. Tonight the Town Hall East folk presented all candidates. In District Six Joyce Brown, John A. Butler, Michael Covington, Jennifer Montgomery, Damon Rawls and Shawnee Rios and Brandy Slaybaugh appeared. Other potential candidates Andre S. Canty, Maurice L. Clark, Sr., Therea Cox, Pete Drew, Kelsey Finch, David Gillette, Lincoln Lincoln and Gwen McKenzie did not attend. Slaybaugh, Montgomery, Gillette, McKenzie, Butler, Rawls and Covington have returned their petitions according to the list from the Knox County Election Commission.
