The Knoxville Federated Republican Women recently welcomed members of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office for an insightful and engaging evening. The event featured a series of presentations and demonstrations that highlighted the Sheriff’s Office’s vital work in the community.
One of the night’s highlights was a presentation on the American flag, focusing on the symbolism of its 13 folds. Attendees learned about the deep meaning behind each fold, offering a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s values and history.
Capt. Aaron Yarnell delivered an informative talk on cyber crimes, shedding light on the Sheriff’s Office’s efforts to combat digital threats. He also provided a broad overview of the department’s diverse responsibilities, giving attendees a deeper appreciation for their work.
The star of the evening was K9 Officer Joseph Stainbeck, a familiar face on REELZ’s OP Live, airing Friday and Saturday nights. Officer Stainbeck captivated the audience with stories about the Sheriff’s Office’s 18 K9s and fielded numerous questions. In a memorable demonstration, he and his K9 partner located “lost” keys belonging to Amy Poteet, delighting the crowd. The fun continued as children in attendance got the chance to throw a ball for K9 Officer Koda, creating a joyful moment for all.
The evening concluded with Chief Deputy Bernie Lyon, who shared final remarks. In a heartwarming surprise, Capt. Yarnell led the group in singing “Happy Birthday” to Chief Deputy Lyon, celebrating his special day with warmth and camaraderie.
The event was a resounding success, fostering connection between the Knoxville Federated Republican Women and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office while showcasing the dedication and versatility of the Sheriff’s team.
